Bumblebees always make me think of summertime and sunny gardens full of flowers, and now my new wooden decorations will add a touch of kawaii to your balcony, windowsill or garden. They make great gifts for gardeners and you can even pop them into a bouquet of flowers or potted plant to make an everyday gift more special.
When I created a tutorial for paper bumblebees on sticks, I loved having them on my mantelpiece, but wondered if I could design a more long-lasting version that you could use in bouquets, plant pots or out in the garden. I took this idea to my dad and now we bring you wooden bee decorations on sticks.
Each garden decoration features my original bumblebee character printed in full colour on beech wood and laser-cut to shape. Attached to the reverse is a circular piece handmade from pine wood that will fit a standard 5mm garden stick (not supplied).
Choose from a happy smiling bumblebee or a cheeky winking bumblebee - or get both with a discount.
A stick is NOT included as this would be difficult and expensive to ship, especially internationally. Any 5mm (0.2") diameter garden stick will fit - these are widely available around the world from garden centres and online (see examples: UK / USA). You may need to use a little bit of glue to keep the stick firmly attached.
The design is sealed with a glossy varnish but I would recommend you place these bees inside or in a sheltered area. Long term exposure to damp, wet, freezing or very sunny conditions may damage the wood or fade the design.
Bumblebees are approximately 7cm (3") square and 4mm thick.
Bumblebees are packaged in a cardboard gift box with no plastic but may be sent inside a plastic mailing bag if ordered individually. These are old stock and will be replaced with a biodegradable or paper alternative in future.
As these bumblebees are made from wood and have handmade backs, there may be some slight variation in the colouring, texture and size.
